CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
Jesus really does love all the little
children of the world. Here at First Presbyterian Church
we want to teach the children just how much Jesus loves them and
how to live in his grace. Our mission is to provide the
best possible care, comfort, guidance and instruction in the
word of God for children, parents and their leaders.
Our children’s ministry is responsible
for education time for our children on Sunday morning, Vacation
Bible School and our nursery.
Children’s Activity Time
is available to young people age three through fifth grade.
Every Sunday we gather after the children’s sermon to review and
discuss the message from that day’s children’s sermon as well as
go through our liturgical calendar and color for the season.
We use the “Godly Play” curriculum which covers both Old and New
Testament studies. Snacks, crafts and related movies are also
utilized as appropriate. We encourage all to come whenever
you can. The kids love it and always learn something
new and grow in their developing faith.
Vacation
Bible School is a
wonderful week every June where volunteers and our staff come
together to help children learn and grow in God’s love.
Each year we select a fun and exciting theme for the week and
games and activities center around that theme. Children
entering kindergarten through those entering 6th
grade in the fall are invited to join. There is no cost.
Parents are encouraged to contribute snacks and goodies for the
group throughout the week.
Free
Nursery Care is available
every Sunday morning for infants through two years of age.
Our childcare attendants take special care to watch and play
with your young ones so you can enjoy the service.
We rely on gracious volunteers to help
in all area of our Children’s ministries. Volunteers help
as leaders for Children’s Activity Time, at Vacation Bible
School, and during our annual Pumpkin Patch event.
