Rev. Scott Wipperman is a
self-described builder and fixer of many things.
He enjoys improving things and making them work better
in addition to a passion for creativity and humor.
As pastor, Scott relies on all of these traits on a
Scottís journey to becoming Senior
Pastor at First Presbyterian Church has taken many
twists and turns. He received his calling later in
life after having successful careers in computer
science, where he worked for Hewlett-Packard and Novell,
and serving as a financial planner.
for Scott was to continue helping individuals, but in a
very different way. He took up the calling and
attended Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
He is continuing his education working on a Doctorate of
Ministry, in a Theology track.
Since his ordination in 2008, Scott has been
helping churches through transition as an interim pastor.
He has served as interim pastor for churches in Salt Lake
City and in Athens, Texas. He received his calling to
Helena in 2013.
Scott is married to his wife Merilee,
and they have seven grown children and 14 grandchildren.
He loves the Montana outdoor lifestyle, particularly hiking,
biking and skiing. He also enjoys woodworking, and
attempts to cook and play the guitar when time allows
(generally not simultaneously). You can catch his act
in the Praise Band (he is the bass guitar player).
